HOT FORGINGS
Forging is the process of deforming metal into a predetermined shape using presses and hammers. It’s a cost-effective way of achieving a uniform microstructure and strong parts of various geometries. Another benefit is that there’s no porosity on forgings.
In forging, steel is heated to at least 1,000 degrees Celsius, creating a small layer of iron oxide called “scales.”
Indimet has competitive pricing on closed and open die hot forgings.
